2011 New York brought an acupuncture bill forward that some activists had concerns about regarding herbalism. New York Health Freedomand NYNCPP have historically been supporting bills that will protect access to unlicensed practitioners in the state of New York. On January 30, 2007, Assemblyman Michael Benedetto introduced a health freedom bill A8733 to exempt unlicensed persons from criminal charges of practice of medicine. This bill did not move through committee but the health freedom community supports Assemblyman Benedetto in his efforts.
